What does the first freeze mean for your plants?

The first freeze of the Fall/Winter arriving five weeks early seems a fitting addition to this crazy year of weather!  “Normally”the average first freeze will arrive around the first week of December.  So, what does that mean for your plants?  Tropical plants such as Pride of Barbados or Canna Lilies are showing some damage.
